This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:. To determine the effect of standard versus adjustable versus targeted diet fortification for nutritional support on growth, and other clinical, nutritional, and neurodevelopmental outcomes in very low birth weight infants receiving human milk, and in birth weight subgroups (< 1000 grams; 1000 to 1499 grams).
