Resumen
Modulation of MgSO4 for SO2 derivative - induced stimulation on voltage - gated sodium channels in rat hippocampal neurons was investigated by using the whole-cell patch clamp techniques. The results indicated that MgSO4 attenuated SO2 derivative-induced augment on Na+ currents, and this action was positively related with the concentration of MgSO4 but negatively related with the concentration of SO2 derivatives. In addition, adding MgSO 4 at different times would obviously inhibit the effect of SO 2 derivatives on Na+ currents. It suggested that MgSO 4 inhibited SO2 derivative-induced stimulation on voltage-gated sodium channels in rat hippocampal neurons, which implicates the possible mechanisms for MgSO4 protecting neuron against neuronal dysfunction resulting from SO2 exposure.
