Resumen
Seven premature infants presenting with metaphyseal alterations simulating features suggesting both scurvy and rickets are discussed. A common factor in all these infants was abnormal liver disease. Although similar radiographic findings can be encountered in other deficiencies, for example copper, the radiographic features and the fact that these patients did respond promptly to vitamin supplement suggests vitamin deficiency as the basis for their bone lesions.
