title = "Plasma treatment and adsorption of single and complex plasma proteins onto starch-based materials affects adhesion and proliferation of MG63 human osteoblast-like osteosarcoma cells",
abstract = "The plasma treatment and adsorption of plasma proteins onto starch-based materials, which effects adhesion and proliferation of MG63 human osteosarcoma cells, were investigated. The surfaces of starch-based materials were modified by means of radio frequency glow discharges (RFGD) technology. Oxygen was injected for 30 s in the reactor chamber and afterwards plasma proceeded for 180 s. The surface characterization after RFGD modification indicated an increase in surface wettability and surface energy for all starch-based materials. The results show that depending on the material nature, the oxygen RFGD treatment was successful onto tailoring cell behavior.",
