Resumen

The efficacy of P15 cell-binding peptide coated ePTFE grafts was compared to uncoated control ePTFE grafts. The efficacy was compared in terms of firstly, neo-intimal tissue in-growth at the arterial and venous ends of the graft and secondly, the coverage and the uniformity of endothelial cell resurfacing of the graft, and the patency of the arterial-venous (A-V) graft in sheep. The neointimal thickness and in-growth length of P15 coated grafts and uncoated grafts were measured by light microscopy. SEM study showed that P15 coated grafts had a more uniform endothelial cell coverage on the lumen of the graft compared to uncoated grafts.
