abstract = "In patients with chronic renal failure on maintenance h{\ae}modialysis, very high overnight and basal gastric-acid secretion was associated with an extremely high frequency (53\%) of duodenal ulceration. Since the duodenal ulcer may not be clinically manifest, spontaneous gastric-acid secretion should be measured in all patients with chronic renal insufficiency, so that treatment can be given if gastric hypersecretion is present.",
