Resumen
An account is given on new data indicating that low shear induced MCP-1 and VCAM-1 gene activation may involve interaction of multiple signal transduction pathways, including the NF-kB and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) systems. The data indicate that NF-kB plays a key role in the endothelial response to chronic LS flow conditions.
