Resumen
The antioxidant and anthelmintic activities of Luffa cylindrica leaf extracts in ethanol, methanol, and chloroform were investigated. The antioxidant activity was determined by 2,2-diphenyl-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and superoxide scavenging assay; the anthelmintic activity was tested against the Indian earthworm (Pheretima posthuma). The methanolic and chloroform leaf extracts showed in vitro antioxidant activity comparable to the standard antioxidant (ascorbic acid); the anthelmintic activities of the ethanolic extract was comparable with the standard drug mebendazole.
