Resumen
MR imaging is the imaging modality of choice for lumbosacral neoplasms. It is the best noninvasive examination for localizing a lesion to a specific compartment within the spine. The use of paramagnetic contrast agents is quite helpful in the evaluation of intramedullary and especially intradural-extramedullary lesions. Despite its excellent sensitivity in lesion detection and localization, MR imaging remains relatively nonspecific in establishing a histologic diagnosis.
