Resumen
Care of the family is sometimes relegated to the edges especially when the infant is very ill or preterm. Yet, family is the greater context and environment of the infant. Nursing interventions are often focused on the infant or the family in context to the infant. Yet, it seems that caring for the family as the focus of the invention also needs to be an integral aspect of caregiving of newborns and infants. Although this issue provides some answers, more research is needed to help nurses find optimal ways to care for families in synchrony with infant caregiving.
