Resumen

This article describes the development, implementation, and preliminary evaluation of the Interprofessional Study Group for Quality Improvement (ISG) at a multihospital metropolitan tertiary health system. Participants read chapters and facilitated weekly discussions using a text in the Dartmouth Quality Improvement Curriculum, interviewed patients about their hospital experiences, identified care gaps from interview data, and presented a pilot plan for a quality improvement initiative. Although few differences were noted between pre and post responses, participants' comments about shared learning with a common language, and learning from patient interviews suggest the approach facilitated interest, enthusiasm, and intent to collaborate in future initiatives.
