N2 - Purpose of Review: Education in neurocritical care (NCC) is evolving, and there is a rapidly growing interest in applying the principles of team science, such as effective communication and psychological safety. We aim to highlight challenges in NCC education, describe key concepts in team science, and summarize available NCC educational offerings (the “educator’s toolkit”). We highlight knowledge gaps in NCC education and areas for future investigation. Recent Findings: Interprofessional team training, particularly for high-acuity, low-frequency events, is emerging as an educational priority. The value of ultrasound training and asynchronous teaching has been increasingly recognized. The use of entrustable professional activities (EPAs) has emerged as a didactic framework for learners in NCC and multiple modalities for learner evaluation, including EPA-based assessment, milestones, and summative simulation have been described. Summary: New frameworks for curricular development, team training, content delivery, and assessment in NCC haven been piloted and published. Application of team science concepts, bolstered by interprofessional team training, has the potential to improve clinical practice in NCC. However, the impact on learning and behavior change for these novel interventions will require further investigation.
