Resumen

This work describes a procedure for using an in vitro mammalian cell culture system to measure the potential toxicity of combustion products. The procedure can be used to assess the toxicity of materials which are either water soluble or insoluble. Extension of the protocols presented, using the same cells in a chemical transformation assay, will allow future studies of the carcinogenic potential of combustion products, thereby serving as a guide to the design of whole animal exposure studies.
