Resumen

Pseudomembranous colitis is a common complication of infection with Clostridium difficile. However, there are other etiologies that should be considered. Cytomegalovirus (CMV) can cause colitis in immunocompetent subjects, and, very rarely, it can be complicated by pseudomembrane formation. In this article, we present a case of pseudomembranous colitis caused by CMV and review the literature.
