Resumen
Cyanide is a potentially deadly chemical. Its lethality has been demonstrated in suicide, homicide, industrial exposures, iatrogenic, and occupational exposures worldwide. Antidote development has focused on two main therapeutic targets: (1) binding cyanide directly and (2) detoxifying cyanide by converting it to a relatively less toxic compound. The history of antidote development for cyanide is discussed.
