Resumen
Concepts in etiology of prostate cancer have evolved coincidentally with our deepening understanding of the complex interplay between the human genome and the environment. Given the heterogeneity of prostate cancers with regard to age of onset and aggressiveness, a unifying etiology for the majority of prostate cancers eludes discovery at this time and may not exist. In considering the etiology of prostate cancer, one can not remove suspect causes from the context of the interwoven domains of genetic determinants, endocrine milieu, and environmental exposure.
