Resumen

The ground reaction force of Tai Chi movements was measured and examined and its rate of loading and peak forces were compared with those of normal walking. The muscle activity of knee extensors during Tai Chi movements was also quantitatively measured and compared to that of normal walking. The findings in this study shed light on why Tai Chi is an effective from of exercise for prevention of osteoporosis in the elderly population.
