Resumen

The viability of a released bioactive factor, recombinant bone morphogenetic protein (rhBMP)-2, in vivo in a rat ectopic bone induction assay is demonstrated. Two groups of scaffolds are fabricated using the emulsion free-drying process. The process produced PLGA scaffolds with novel microarchitecture. The viability of rhBMP-2 is confirmed by the regenerating bone induction assay.
