Resumen
The chemical composition, crystallographic properties, and the in vitro phenotypic expression of osteoblast cells on radiofrequency sputter deposited calcium phosphate (CaP) coatings were measured to elucidate the phenomena that control the performance of biomaterials. The heat-treated surfaces exhibited a poorly crystallized hydroxyapatite-type structure with higher wettability. Heat-treated surfaces, on the other hand, exhibited an amorphous structure with higher wettability. However, no difference in cellular responses was observed for the human embryonic palatal mesenchyme cells cultured on CaP surfaces.
