Resumen

The aging patient has many physiologic and pathologic changes that may require evaluation. The practicing podiatrist should be aware of what is considered normal and what is considered abnormal and be willing to work with the patient to find a health care provider who is willing to address these unique issues. The podiatrist, along with other primary care practitioners, is in a unique position to observe and intervene initially in health care issues that could be life threatening if left untreated. It is important to be alert to these changes and be willing to intervene whenever necessary.
