note = "Funding Information: need for increased family-focused intervention. Through collaboration, the idea of a multiple-day family conference was reached. The determination to conduct the conference was based on both formal and informal needs assessments. Requests from families and their positive responses to the idea were major contributing factors, as was the availability of funding. A preliminary budget was developed to include stipends for families for whom the cost of the conference might be prohibitive. Funding was sought and received from a number of sources, including the Texas Genetics Network, March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, Ross Laboratories, Mead-Johnson Nutrition-als, Scientific Hospitals, and the Davila Pharmacy.",
