Abstract

Tioconazole is a new broad-spectrum antifungal. In a series of clinical trials, we compared tioconazole 1% cream with its vehicle and miconazole cream in the treatment of tinea pedis. We found tioconazole superior to its vehicle and comparable to miconazole. Side effects were minimal. Topical tioconazole is a safe and effective agent for treatment of dermatophytosis of the feet.
