Abstract

The value of obstetric ultrasound evaluation is well established in the management of diabetic pregnancies. It is useful to establish the gestational age accurately in the first half of pregnancy, to detect fetal anomalies that occur more frequently in the offspring of people with diabetes, to monitor fetal growth and detect growth problems such as macrosomia or fetal growth retardation, and to assist in the evaluation of fetal health.
