The Serotonin Club at 21: United in diverse neuropharmacology

The papers in this issue of Neuropharmacology magazine focus on some of the presentations at the meeting of the Serotonin Club, held in Oxford, UK, from 17- 20 July, 2008. The Oxford meeting is considered an important event for the Serotonin Club, as it occurred during its 21st birthday. The Serotonin Club is an international association of biomedical scientists, who are associated with research on serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT). The main objective of the club is, to promote scientific and social communication among individuals interested in serotonin and related compounds, specifically, by sponsoring and conducting related scientific activities. All authors, participating in the event were requested to provide papers that contained both an overview of their research area and some of their existing data.
