Abstract
The application of 7.5γ testosterone to the penes of castrated immature rats causes a definite growth of this organ in 10 days. This growth is as great as that obtained when the animals are treated with the same daily dose for 11 days. The growth of the penis in rats treated with testosterone in lanolin was less than that obtained with testosterone in alcohol. The daily application of 1γ of estradiol for 22, days or 5γ for 10 days, or the application of 5γ of estrone for 10 days failed to cause any significant increase in the length or weight of the penes of castrate rats.
