Abstract
It has been reported that masticatory pain and dysfunction patients have an increased silent period duration. It has also been reported that conditions of the muscles, such as fatigue, may be causative factors in the masticatory pain and dysfunction syndrome. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of experimental, short-term muscle fatigue on the silent period duration. Analysis of the data from group results indicated that short-term muscle fatigue did not significantly alter the silent period duration.
