The Approach to the Complex Multiple Amputee

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The complex amputee is a spectrum of high energy injury that can be some of the most complex physiology encountered on the battlefield. With the advent of improved IOTV, or body armor, and the deployment and efficacy of combat tourniquet use, many more soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines are surviving blast injury. These can be divided grossly into mounted and dismounted injuries, each with overlapping concerns but individual challenges.
