Abstract
The elbow has a well-deserved reputation for being a difficult joint to manage. The often trivial injuries or disease seem to inflict substantial functional limitations. Over the last 20-30 years there has been considerable improvement in the management of a spectrum of elbow pathology. This evolution might be characterized by several salient advances in surgical management, not exclusively focussed on the elbow.
