Abstract

Patients with AIDS have been reported previously to develop severe cutaneous viral infections such as chronic herpes simplex infections and aggressive condyloma acuminatum, as well as cutaneous neoplastic processes (Kaposi's sarcoma). Reference to molluscum contagiosum infections occurring in AIDS has been stated to occur in two reviews. A detailed report of a severe persistent infection occurring as a presenting sign of AIDS in a patient with confirmed HTLV-III disease is given.
