Retraction: Expression of the Lactobacillus Plantarum Surface Layer MIMP Protein Protected NCM460 Epithelial Cells from Enteroinvasive Escherichia Coli Infection (Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry (2011) 27 (99–108) DOI: 10.1159/000325210)

The article “Expression of the Lactobacillus Plantarum Surface Layer MIMP Protein Protected NCM460 Epithelial Cells from Enteroinvasive Escherichia Coli Infection” [Cell Physiol Biochem 2011;27:99–108. DOI: 10.1159/000325210] by Zhihua Liu, Yanlei Ma, Jianjun Yang, Peng Zhang, Mary Pat Moyer and Huanlong Qin has been retracted by the current and former Publisher and the Editor. Following publication, concerns were raised about image duplication within Figures 3, 6 and 7. When asked to comment, the authors stated that the data underlying Figure 3 and Figure 7 has been lost. As the concerns raised can not be addressed and given the severity of these concerns, the reliability of the findings presented in the article can not be guaranteed and the article is being retracted. The authors did not respond to correspondence about this retraction statement.
