Abstract

This chapter presents a series of case studies with multiple choice questions and answers on preoperative systemic therapy for breast cancer. It commences with a discourse on preoperative endocrine approach reasonable in breast cancer patient, and ends with the radiation therapy necessary if a mastectomy is performed. The chapter also discusses on advantages of preoperative systemic therapy compared to postoperative adjuvant therapy, role of neo-adjuvant or primary chemotherapy for patients to achieve lumpectomy or breast conservation eligibility, and the optimal way to approach someone with HER2+ breast cancer requiring preoperative therapy.
