Posterior fossa arachnoid cyst demonstrated by ultrasound

Abstract

Ultrasonic visualization of intracranial anatomy of infants has been the subject of several recent communications. Determination of the third and lateral ventricular size has been the most useful aspect of this new technique, whereas structures in the posterior fossa are more difficult to visualize. This report describes the ultrasonic and computed cranial tomographic (CCT) findings in a child with an arachnoid cyst of the posterior fossa.
