Abstract
This chapter describes the role of point of care ultrasound (POCUS) in bedside diagnostics and interventional pain management. The use of bedside ultrasound is compared with other imaging modalities with a focus on ultrasound portability, affordability, resolution, real-time anatomical visualization, and needle visualization technique. Finally, limitations of POCUS are discussed.
