Abstract
Clinicians recognize an increasing number of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It is prudent for health care personnel to acknowledge the presence of many STDs in the oropharynx and consider them in the differential diagnosis of many well-established conditions. The purpose of this article is to review the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of selected diseases and conditions of sexual origin that may affect the oropharynx.
