Abstract

A database project built around the neural simulator GENESIS to support the modeling of neurons and neuronal circuits is described. The development of planetary science between the 15th and 16th centuries is used as evidence that such models are likely to play a critical role in the development of a formal theoretical structure with which to understand neuronal function.
