Abstract

Bipolar disorder (BD) can be conceptualized as a multisystem condition, impairing behavior and cognition, alongside autonomic, endocrine, and immune functions. In this chapter, we will discuss the evidence of the involvement of immune system dysfunction in BD and their role as a potential biomarker for the condition.
