Neisseria mucosus endocarditis following drug abuse. Case report and review of the literature

Abstract

A 30-year-old man with drug addiction had endocarditis due to Neisseria mucosus. The infection was successfully treated with ampicillin sodium. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of N mucosus endocarditis associated with intravenous drug abuse.
