N1 - Funding Information: Recently, obstetrics/gynecology subspecialty fellowship training programs transitioned to accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. With the transition comes new terminology and accreditation standards that create an opportunity to refocus on faculty development for fellowship directors (FDs). FDs are responsible for institutional program development and mentoring future leaders and researchers in obstetrics and gynecology. Most graduate medical education leadership training occurs in the form of lectures, role modeling, and short-term workshops, such as put on by our specialty societies. 1-3 Existing faculty development programs may not address fellow and FD specific needs, especially in the areas of research curriculum development or leadership training. An article by Edler et al 1 indicated that 41% of program directors and FDs desired more training in educational leadership. We hypothesize that many FDs do not feel prepared for their role as educational leaders. We surveyed subspecialty FDs in obstetrics and gynecology to identify areas of opportunity in development programs and education for FDs.
