Abstract

A thorough knowledge of both the endocranial and exocranial anatomy of the skull base is imperative to safely and effectively perform the various transcranial surgical approaches to neurovascular pathologies. This chapter provides a description of the anatomy based on the classical division of the skull base into anterior, middle, and posterior fossae.
