In the title molecule, C17H14BrNO4S, the methoxycarbonyl group is almost coplanar [dihedral angle = 5.89 (16)°] with the indole ring system, whereas the sulfonyl-bound phenyl ring is almost orthogonal to it [dihedral angle = 88.25 (6)°]. Weak C-H⋯O, C-H⋯π and π-π interactions link the molecules into a sheet parallel to the ab plane.
