Abstract
The accurate and complete evaluation of dysphonia relies on obtaining a systematic and complete vocal history. History-taking can be facilitated by organizing the assessment using the same categories as those used in general medical history-taking. The resulting information will, when combined with a complete physical examination, allow the practitioner to arrive at a correct diagnosis for the patient with dysphonia.
