Abstract
The number of bariatric surgeries being performed each year in the United States is over 200,000 cases per year. While the number of gastric bypasses has been on the decline in recent years relative to other surgeries like the sleeve gastrectomy, complications such as marginal ulceration still pose a challenge for patients and surgeons alike. In this chapter we will discuss the underlying etiology of the disease process, strategies for prevention, and ultimately the management of marginal ulcers with associated algorithms.
