Abstract
Malunions of the forearm are not a common entity that the orthopedist will manage in practice; notwithstanding their scarcity, they can be problematic to treat. The functional outcomes of a malunion are largely based on the functional range of motion and presence or absence of pain. Most people are able to function well in their daily life with a malunion. However, a malunion of the forearm can also result in disability and the inability to perform normal, daily activities. Herein, we discuss the historical background, relevant surgical anatomy, appropriate medical and surgical evaluation, surgical treatment, and anticipated outcomes of malunions of the forearm.
