Abstract

Inventions management, a relatively new concept in many business organizations, is being utilized to realize the full business potential of intellectual properties. The function is defined and discussed from the point of view of its objectives, the services it can provide, and the contributions it can make. How it operates and relates to other components of the company organizational structure is described. Specific attention is given to the role it can play in licensing activities.
