Abstract

Inpatient geriatric consultative teams consist of health care professionals seeking to maintain functional abilities in the hospitalized elderly person. These teams also teach geriatric fellows, resident physicians, and medical students. The purpose of this article is to report on a half-day symposium given by geriatric medical educators to explore the composition and activity of these teams in medical practice and as educational vehicles.
