Antipyrine and 4-aminoantipyrine are used to determine uterine and umbilical blood flows. When administered in vivo, these compounds produce a decrease in uterine contracture activity and maternal uterine vein 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-prostaglandin F concentrations. In this paper we report that they also inhibit in vitro activity of prostaglandin synthase in bovine seminal microsomes.
