Abstract

Infection associated with pediatric spinal deformity surgery can cause substantial postoperative morbidity and elevated health-care costs.Surgical site infections (SSIs) associated with pediatric spinal deformity surgery are multifactorial.Despite a large body of literature on this topic, there still are relatively few treatment recommendations that are supported by high-level evidence. Additional research focused on homogenous subgroups and funding are needed.
