Abstract
In recent years, the increasing richness of data generated by fMRI and PET brain mapping studies has encouraged the growth of meta-analysis research. In response to this progress, a new method of quantitative, voxelbased meta-analysis, termed activation likelihood estimation (ALE), has been developed and applied in a number of cognitive and perceptual domains. Here, the method is discussed and findings froma meta-analysis of the Stroop task are highlighted.
