Abstract
We detected polyadenylated RNA transcripts of the portion of A. tumefaciens tumor inducing plasmid DNA incorporated into a crown gall teratoma tumor, BT37. Our results indicate that transcription occurs throughout the plasmid sequences in the tumor tissue. Those DNA sequences which are essential for oncogenicity and nopaline sysnthesis are most heavily transcribed. Possible functions of these polyadenylated transcripts are discussed.
