Abstract
Upon completion of the chapter, the student will be able to: 1. Outline the importance of exercise and its implications in the well-being of older adults. 2. Identify the different components of an exercise program for the elderly. 3. Differentiate among several types of disability and its effects in activities of daily living in geriatric patients. 4. Define rehabilitation and recognize the importance of an interdisciplinary team in the process of function restoration in the elderly.
